Artist Steve Taylor in Attendance for Show Opening

G-Man after Chester Goulde

G-Man after Al CaponeSaturday, August 13 2011 – Local artist Steve Taylor will be in attendance for the opening of the exhibition of his new art. On the 13th (Dirty Linen Night), from 5 – 8 PM, Taylor’s show, Isolated Figures, will be displayed at Angela King Gallery at the intersection of Royal St. and Bienville. The gallery welcomes all comers to see Taylor’s collection, enjoy some good company and chat with the artist himself.

Taylor cut his teeth in New York - doing graphics, comic strips, illustrations and hand lettering for underground magazines and labels. After five years he moved to New Orleans to work in commercial art and began to exhibit paintings. Later, he devoted full time to a new collection of paintings that quickly got the attention of the art community. His early influences are still apparent in his widely varied, comic-book-flavored conceptions.

Steve Taylor and the Angela King Gallery invite you to see a congregation of Isolated Figures, a congress of oddities, indeed the world’s greatest gathering of human curiosities: the magician, the snake charmer, flying women, supermen and other amazing attractions; It’s almost time for The Show.

Taylor’s show will run through September 9th, but Steve Taylor will be at Angela King Gallery for one night only. Come enjoy Taylor’s hip and opinionated take on the world on Opening Night, Saturday, August 13th.
