When Thomas first began his career as a painter he focused on the color red because it is a universal, passionate color. It is the color of Campbell's soup, of Coca-Cola, of Radio Flyer wagons. He soon moved on to his passion, red wine. He quickly became drawn into the subtle variations in color and body of each wine.

"It takes layers and layers to capture the richness of the vintage. I will coat the canvas with different reds for weeks and weeks to capture how the light hits it through the glass."

Today, after fifteen years of painting wine Thomas Arvid is increasingly sought by boutique wineries and individuals alike to paint their wines for display in their homes and cellars.
