This series of paintings is about the behavior of people in all kinds of circumstances, whether those circumstances are created by themselves, nature or human kind. The pressure on one person to live the perfect life is so strong that we sometimes behave in offbeat ways and surround ourselves with even more curious apparatus, materials & fantastic or authentic objects.

The Monospace Project

The ideal place for self reflection is seclusion. A place where there is no diversion, a place where you can find your own self. In each painting, I show a fragment of my own subconscious and spiritual monospace in life as a human being, as a painter. Nonetheless the painter and the subjects are surrounded with colors, bizarre settings, elements or ingredients, which obviously fill the “no-diversion”-habitat.
