When viewing the works of Anne Bachelier we seem to be an audience watching ancient rituals and or rites of passage. The paintings are thematically suggestive rather than specific. Many portray figures of adults and children interacting; the wisdom of elders is seemingly being passed on to youth. Some images are of single figures in the manner of portraits. Others present groups of figures interacting with one another and the scenario is often one when ancient wisdom is coupled with power.
